gifting options

Your donations help us assist friends, family and neighbors in our service area. All monetary donations go directly toward food, essentials, resources and programs to meet clients’ needs—none of our volunteers or board are paid.

  • Online gift (easiest and fastest way to donate): Make an easy electronic donation using the gold DONATE button (see left-side column). Credit cards, debit cards, and PayPal accounts can be used. This can be a one-time gift or split up into monthly gifts. (Giving monthly is the most effective way to help feed kids and families year-round.) Cancel or update anytime.

  • Check: Send a donation with a check payable to “Heights Unlimited” to:

    Heights Unlimited Community Resource Center
    PO Box 63
    Mazomanie, WI 53560

ALERT: Due to an increase in check thefts through the mail, the U.S. Postal Service recently issued an alert suggesting that you use a secure mail drop such as inside a post office versus an unsecured public-facing mailbox. Paying via a credit card may be safer as it allows you to pursue legal recourse should a transaction go awry.

  • Employer matching gifts: Many employers offer a matching gift when you make a donation to a qualified charity. Ask your employer if this is an option.

  • Gift from your IRA or through your Required Minimum Distribution:

    •  Qualified charitable distributions (QCDs) from your individual retirement account (IRA) are currently tax free. Certain transfers of up to $100,000 from an IRA directly to a qualified charity can be made by anyone age 70 ½ or older.

    • A Required Minimum Distribution (RMD) can be a tax-free option to donate directly to a qualified charity while satisfying all or part of your RMD. RMDs are minimum amounts that a retirement plan account owner must withdraw annually starting with the year the owner reaches an IRS-designated age, currently 73.

There are exceptions/requirements that may apply to your particular financial situation. Be sure to consult your retirement fundholder or tax professional when considering these options.
