Inclement Weather Policy

Weather-related pantry closures generally follow the lead of the Wisconsin Heights School District and will be posted on our Facebook page.

Kids who are nutritionally sound do better in school. Here’s an example of what food-challenged kids may take home on weekends through HU’s backpack program.

Wonderful volunteers help distribute lunches in the park during summer months.

Food Pantry

Heights Unlimited (located in The Grove Regional Community Center) strives to provide a large variety of items to our clients, including cereals, vegetables and fruits, dairy products, detergent, soaps, baked goods, boxed meals, diapers, frozen meats, and more. We even offer, on occasion, cat and dog food so that clients are able to keep and care for their family pets.

In-need families and individuals may visit Heights Unlimited for food and household/personal essentials every Tuesday from 4-6 pm at 314 Anne Street in Mazomanie. First-time clients are required to complete a TEFAP (The Emergency Food Assistance Program) form and provide identification for themselves and family members and proof of address (e.g. utility bill).

CLOTHes Closet

We try to maintain a supply of adult and children’s seasonal clothing for most sizes and genders. Need clothing or have clothing to donate? Contact Francine Rask (francine@newheightslc.org).

Rent/Utilities Assistance

Heights Unlimited partners with Porchlight’s Eviction Prevention Program to assist with rent or utilities for those in the Dane County service area at risk of becoming homeless. Additional resources can be found under the “Other Community Services Available” section below. Send inquiries to info@HeightsUnlimited.net.

Kids’ Backpack Program

HU offers a kids’ backpack program to all Wisconsin Heights School District students to address weekend food and nutrition insecurity. Families who wish to participate in this program should contact the principal of their child(ren)’s school (elementary, middle or high school).

Kids’ Summer Lunches Program

When the school year ends, so ends the assurance of a daily lunch for some kids. So, during the summer, Heights Unlimited offers free lunches (including milk/juice, sandwiches, fruit, vegetables, and snacks) to children 18 and under. Lunches are distributed in parks in Black Earth and Mazomanie. Watch HU’s Facebook page for start dates and updates.

my neighbor in need

Heights Unlimited partners with My Neighbor in Need (NIN), a group in the Sauk Prairie area, which provides local neighbors a way to ask for help (e.g. furniture, food, clothing, housewares, etc.) and for communities to offer assistance. If you or someone you know has a need:
